It would be nice if the author had updated at least the online ...

While conceptually the book is accurate, it is outdated by the Azure Service Fabric SDK. The samples including the configuration files do not work. It would be nice if the author had updated at least the online samples but they do not work either. All these make reading the book a difficult and frustrating experience. I really hope that the author and the publisher will find the resources to remedy this situation as soon as possible. IMHO Service Fabric is one of the most attractive technologies and services in the Azure portfolio. It is one of the biggest differentiators and a book in such a messy state makes it disservice to say the least.

First book on Servive Fabric, from the source, very comprehensive. I hope it's followed by a programmers guide to wriring Microservices with indepth implementation details on the Actor Model and Servive Model.

All of the books that I ordered arrived just like they said they would. Out of all of the books that I have purchased, this book is the best book. As a Behavioral Health Nurse, I facilitate group therapy sessions (for a Partial Hospitalization Program) and like to keep the class interesting. This book has allowed for topics to be discussed in a variety of ways keeping the topics interesting. Patient's are real excited to participate in the activities on what I would like to say is fun Friday. This gives the patient's the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge of the subject matter. The spiral bounding is excellent, but what also is a plus for this book is that it comes with a CD to print out the necesary pages instead of bending the book. This is the best investment that I have made in a long time regarding a book purchase.

This is an excellent resource for group work with proactive client participation. I like its ease of use, the categorical arrangement sections, table of contents and pdf format.

The activities can also be incorporated into psychoeducation sessions with clients who are minimally responsive.

Not what I expected

For a book that touts venison as one of the healthiest red meats, I thought it would have healthier recipes. Most of the recipes fit in the category of soup, stew, or casserole. And several list ingredients like prepackaged dry soup mix, refrigerator biscuits, bottled sauces/gravies, processed cheese, and pre mixed seasoning blends. This may be what some people are looking for. I am not interested in tainting my hard earned kill with processed off the shelf pre packaged junk food. Sadly I will keep looking for good, healthy, and tasty venison recipes. I give it 3 stars, because the author has taken the time to put together quite a bit of information, both for cooking and hunting. I also understand that many people are probably looking for these kind of "easy" recipes. I would like to find a book that celebrates the simple taste of the meat without smothering it in some kind of gravy or sauce.

I have tried a lot of the ground venison recipes and they all have been better than expected. The recipes have ways I would never think of to make venison taste great. I have tried other venison cookbooks and they just don't stack up to this one. I was not a big venison fan (didn't grow up eating it) but these recipes make venison taste really good.

The book is organized in two sections -- the author's own top 100 recipes and another 100 she calls "the best of the rest," including over 30 from family, friends and others -- a list that reads like the "Who's Who of Deer Hunters": Charlie Alsheimer, Mark Drury, Ted Nugent, Bob Robb and many more. Each recipe is keyed to roasts, steaks, chops -- whatever type of cut you're cooking.

A very useful book from a classroom perspective

When I wanted to learn C language, the second book I picked up was this same series on C [the first one being K & R, which I read later to comprehend].
This book on UML follows the same tradition of "Teach a concept then give plenty of exercises to practice what you learnt". It includes two case studies also. It also includes a chapter on Real time UML, another on OCL and another chapter on Design patterns. A very good buy for the money (16+ dollars).
Pros: Excellent book for beginners Lots of exercises to practice what you learnt. This can be a first book to read before moving into heavy weights like UML series [from awl] or Booch series [from sigs]. Coverage of Object Constraint Language
Cons: May be taking a case tool like Rational Rose or TogetherJ for implementation, as a side-by-side treatment would have made this book more comprehensive.
Overall I am very much satisfied with this book at a elementary level.

About the Author
John Campbell is a longtime supporter of the Hibernian Football Club and a scholar of the club’s long and illustrious history. He was the editor and a regular contributor to the long-running fanzine Mass Hibsteria before moving on to join the club’s interactive team, writing regularly for the match-day program and club website as well as providing internet-based match commentaries. Lawrie Reilly is a former Scottish association soccer player who was one of the “Famous Five,” the legendary Hibernian forward line during the 1950s. He is rated among the top forwards in Scottish soccer history and was inducted into the Scottish soccer Hall of Fame in 2005.
