About the Author
Thomas Pyzdek holds more than 50 copyrights including The Six Sigma Handbook, The Quality Engineering Handbook and The Handbook of Quality Management. His works are used by thousands of universities and organizations around the world to teach process excellence. He offers online training and certification in Six Sigma, Lean and Lean Six Sigma. Pyzdek has provided training and consulting to employers and clients in all industries since 1967. He provides consulting guidance from the executive suite to “Belts” working in the trenches. Pyzdek is a Fellow of ASQ and recipient of the ASQ Edward’s Medal and the Simon Collier Quality Award, both for outstanding contributions to the field of quality management, and the ASQ E.L. Invaluable as both study companion and reference book

I purchased this book as study material for my IASSC Green Belt exam. The methods and techniques in this book are fairly standard and I found only minor differences between it and the outlined curriculum for IASSC.
The first few chapters are slow but I believe important. Strictly speaking, however, I think you might skip ahead to the "Define" chapter without too much harm.
Even after achieving my certification, I have frequently referenced sections of this book as a six sigma practitioner. It has pride of place on my desk beside my laptop because it plays a vital role in my daily work.
Further, the bibliography provides a well-curated list of further reading. This text has been a gateway to professional development. I couldn't recommend it more highly.

I haven't quite finished this book yet, but it's much more interesting and easy to read than I expected! I hope that this will prepare me well for certification in the near future. I would definitely recommend the book for reading and reference.
